Summer is officially over and autumn is here in full strength with all its beautifully colored leaves and sweater-friendly temperatures. I love this season for many reasons, but above all for the makeup. Last month I talked about my 5 favorite berry- and plum-colored lipsticks for the autumn season, now it’s time to talk about the rest of the products I like to wear them with. This is not necessarily a post about the current fall makeup trends but rather about autumn products which I’ve loved to wear over the last years in more or less the same combination. Eventually, I believe these colors never go out of season and always come back during fall in a similar way.
Although I tend to buy more on the high street, I still believe there are many low-cost products and brands which perform just as good for a fraction of the price. I collected my 10 favorite budget items that I prefer buying at the drugstore instead of the perfumery.
What better way is there to travel the world if not in the search of exciting new products and innovative cosmetic brands? Wherever I go, live or travel I try to discover the local beauty industry. Being born in Germany leaves me with a lot of choices but over time I discovered how many interesting brands never made it to the market there. While living abroad over the last years, I had the opportunity to explore a world of cosmetics I didn’t even know existed.
The month of August is half over now and I’ve been collecting some new beauty products.Throughout the end of July and the beginning of August, I’ve constantly been on the move. Living out of a suitcase is not ideally, especially as I’ve tried travelling with minimum luggage. I was surprised myself how little I took with me, in particular beauty-wise but at least the products I brought with me I used regularly. Who doesn’t regret bringing lots of makeup for a holiday but ends up using hardly anything? Well, I would usually be such a candidate. On the other hand, by travelling light I had the opportunity to discover and try some new products.
During the summer I love my natural tan and I always cut down on the products to keep it simple. My principle is: Every layer too much on my face just starts to melt away with +30°C anyways. Over the last weeks I repeatedly wore to this look: A quick and easy makeup with rosy cheeks and a bright pink lip.
